Perfect Sense

Little teddy loved school
Ofcourse he wasn't a fool
Little teddy loved Ms Fletcher
his lovely science teacher
With pair of eyes dark brown
and countenance that never did frown
she always made perfect sense
on either side of the fence
"Why", he asked her one day
a sunny day in may
did the earth go retrograde
every three revolutions it made
and why did the sun rise in the west
during all months but august?
a broad smile gave she
and her eyes glowed in glee
as she explained the law of gravitation
with great admiration
for the man who made it
Michael Forsyth
Ms Fletcher had once again
with absolutely no pain
made perfect sense
as she would every time thence.
